I will say this though. American Idol is not a show that accelerates those with the whole package or whatever. Shows like X Factor do that. American Idol is straight vocals and that's about it. Though, for example, I don't think Brit or Mary J. would make it to Hollywood on AI, they are unique in their own right and they bring their own special things to the music industry and if they tried out for AI, you wouldn't know the potential the REALLY had. Being a star isn't just about the voice. I feel there's a lot more to it. That's why I don't really like AI. That's just my opinion though

I agree with Nicki. Being successfu in the music industry doesn't just fall on "do you have the voice?" It's about your presence/confidence, how you approach music, your niche.... everything. You can sound like a goat but with the right team and style and music, you can be a huge success. And even if you do have the voice.... you could just have that and nothing else and be a flop flop flop lol
