The last division series will finish up this evening.

Cubs/Nationals play a winner take all game 5.

The Winner will play the Dodgers to decide who gets to go to the World Series.

Since the Dodgers have choked the last 4 times they've been in this position (2007, 2008, 2013, 2016,) tonite's game is huuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuge!

FRANCISCO LINDOR, that was the best tag in the history of baseball....Perfection defined.

I'll post a video of it, soon. Meanwhile let's all watch pretty boy blow some.

And his grand slam, today:

2017-10-07 11:54:53

He's cartoonishly pretty.

2017-10-07 12:47:49

Unless the Yanks come back to win 3 in a row, Girardi is gunna be fired. His catcher clearly asked for a hit batter call to be reviewed, and he didn't do it. The ball hit the bat (not the player.) Catcher clearly tried to tell him that.

2017-10-07 14:03:24

If it was George Steinbrenner in ownership, I'd say yeah. There is sentimental attachment to JG in NYC. He was the main catcher on that 1996 yankee team. People like Andy Pettite & Mariano Rivera adore him.

I knew Joe made the right move when he addressed the booing he got on Sunday. He said it's hard, but the fans are passionate. You get the hard side, but you also get the good side...They care.... I care, too.

That's what every single manager should say. They almost never can, because the booing is usually about a player. It's rare that it's just about a manager.

They still shouldn't of won the series, but it gave them the chance to do it. Cleveland has gotten tight 2 years in a row. Kluber needs a Sports Psychologist. He has choked in 3 straight post-season games.

The players in the NFL don't have nearly as good a deal with management. That's a big part of all this. NBA, and the MLB are player leagues.

If you take race out of it, I think you'd like baseball more than most sports. It is a game of mental discipline. Like nine other. Of course, WITH THE GAYS, Volleyball is King.

The fact that the Cubs are having to use Hendricks tonite (and, to a lesser extent, the Nationals are using up Gio Gonzalez) is a big help for the Dodgers. They should start the NLCS ON SATURDAY. That's what happened last year. Took us 5 games to beat the Nationals, and we couldn't pitch anyone good in the 1st game of the NLCS. We will start Kershaw, and WE NEED TO GET ALL OVER THEM IN GAME 1. That is not optional. It's a must. We have not won a series (in forever) after losing the 1st game. We have not lost one (in forever)after winning the 1st game. We are that way.

Both The Nationals and Cubs are totally going through all the pitchers they can possibly use. The Cubs have a 2 run lead, but are bringing in their closer in the 7th inning.

As I predicted,

Dodgers versus Cubs in the NLCS.

........WE MUST WIN GAME 1.

Yes, the Nationals are chokes, but they are good enough to take a lot out of the team that beats them. My guess is we face Lackey in game 1. Everyone else was used tonite, or yesterday.

If you look back in this thread, I gave out 1 bet to make. Just 1.

CUBS +115 OVER THE NATIONALS

The Nationals are good, but they do stupid shit. Dusty put in Sherzer on 3 days rest. That rarely works. Especially on a robot type, and Sherzer is one of those. They are very reliant on repeating the same routine...Robot. Their catcher threw away 2 runs. Just stupid shit.

I got the Red Sox coming out of the AL, & the Dodgers coming out the NL.

Boston vs Los Angeles. Sounds like an NBA Finals matchup.

These 2 major media markets have never squared for the Fall Classic. 2017 will be the 1st according to my prognostication.

I honestly know nothing about baseball, I just lpve seeing those phat booties step up to the plate

Thee Los Angeles Dodgers have taken game 1of the NLCs.

Dodgers 5

Cubs 2

Twaz Beautiful. Yasiel Puig was huge in this win. He's never been good in the past post seasons, but this a far different season. The guy they wanted to trade, but couldn't get a fair offer for. Yea, that guy has been the best player (so far,) in the post season.

Thee Los Angeles Dodgers have taken a 3 games to none lead in the National League Championship Series. The Chicago Cubs must now win 4 straight games, or we are going to that World Series.

Teams can beat the Washington Nationals, but it takes everything. They don\'t have a lot left for the next series.

KEKE HERNANDEZ HIT A GRAND SLAM. That's his 2nd HR OF THE NIGHT.

Pinch me

7-0 Dodgers... 3rd inning..........

A Dodgers' win puts them into the World Series (which hasn't happened in 29 long painful years.)

With a massive 11-1 win, the LOS ANGELES DODGERS are going to the World Series.

1st time in 29 years.

ASTROS V/S DODGERS

Here we go. We are on.

Los Angeles Dodgers versus THE HOUSTON ASTROS

DODGERS HAVEN'T even been to the WORLD SERIES since winning it in '88. Houston has never won a World Series. Came into the league in '62. They lost a World Series in 2005.

I wouldn't have liked the Yankees being in this. With Houston, they are my 2nd favorite team. Even got a Astros ball cap (bought it for Negronamese or whatever his name is, but he DIDN'T WANT IT.) I hope the Dodgers win, but , if they don't, this is the team I'd want to beat us.

Verlander owned the Dodgers in late August. Sort of started our big slump period.
